Indie Game Clinic

By Rob from the Shack
Indie Game Clinic helps intermediate indie developers improve unfinished games through design critique, live reviews, and creative insight.

Indie Game Clinic is an online learning platform and YouTube channel aimed at indie game developers who are past the beginner stage and looking to level up their projects. Rather than focusing on engine-specific tutorials or technical how-tos, Indie Game Clinic concentrates on game design, production thinking, creative direction, and the realities of making indie games that resonate with players.

Led by game designer Joe Baxter-Webb, the channel features weekly live critique sessions, including the popular Indies Under the Knife stream, where unfinished games are reviewed and discussed in depth. Alongside this, Indie Game Clinic publishes regular video lectures, breakdowns of indie and retro games, and thoughtful opinion pieces on the current state of indie game development.

If you are stuck mid-project, struggling with design clarity, or want constructive feedback rooted in real-world experience, Indie Game Clinic offers a supportive and insightful space to reflect, learn, and improve.
