Crash-land four explorers on a dead planetoid, keep them alive, and dig into the mysteries buried below the surface. Base building meets proper physics simulation and stories that actually matter.

Adaptory drops four procedurally generated crew members onto a deserted planetoid after a crash landing, and it’s down to you to keep them breathing, fed, warm and sane while you figure out a way home. Each explorer’s got their own skills, quirks and opinions, and they’ll happily share those opinions with each other. Their chats and diary entries aren’t just flavour text either, they’re a proper part of working out how to use your crew well.

Underneath the survival stuff is a genuinely deep physics and chemistry simulation, with nearly fifty materials reacting to gravity, temperature, density and phase changes. Want power? Rig up solar panels, or boil water with molten rock for steam, or funnel gas into a turbine. As your base grows more complex you’ll need to start automating things too, because your crew size stays the same no matter how big your task list gets.

No two runs play out the same way. Meteor showers, solar flares and earthquakes can wreck your base or crack open new veins of rare materials, and either way they can push your crew towards breaking point or breaking apart. Underneath it all sits a proper sci-fi story from writer Cassandra Tse, pieced together through diaries, artefacts and system logs as you dig deeper into what actually happened here. It’s still in active development heading towards 1.0, with the team taking feedback from the Discord community along the way.
