Aethercrypt
Aethercrypt is a fantasy roguelike deckbuilder in which players form a party and fight through a dungeon that changes from one run to the next. Combat is turn-based, with players planning their moves and managing resources across each encounter. The game can be played alone or with up to three other people, with co-op supported both locally over LAN and online.
Players begin by choosing one of two class decks, the Adventurer or the Witch, each with its own set of cards and approach to combat. Winning battles unlocks new card choices, and players select from these to expand their deck and build combinations between cards as a run progresses. Deck composition is therefore shaped gradually through the decisions made after each victory.
As a roguelike, Aethercrypt does not repeat the same run twice, so the dungeon layout and encounters differ each time and players are expected to adjust their strategy accordingly. The developer describes the core loop as combining turn-based deckbuilding combat, class-specific decks, roguelike progression and cooperative play for up to four participants.
