Apocalypter

Apocalypter is a survival game set in a post-apocalyptic open world that is procedurally generated and described as infinite. Players travel the world in customisable cars, scavenging for parts and supplies, fighting or trading with factions, and hunting down warlords whose trophies can be attached to their vehicle. Navigation relies on a compass and landmarks, with roads offering an easier route, though the developer notes that some lead nowhere. Points of interest include abandoned buildings, wrecks, caves, faction camps and bases.

The car customisation system allows any part to be installed on any car without restrictions. Mechanical upgrades include suspension, engines and radiators, while cosmetic parts cover items such as steering wheels, gear levers and seats. A part adjuster tool lets players move and rotate components like the engine, exhaust or radiator, and storage can be expanded with roof racks, crates and boxes. Cars can also serve as a mobile base through portable maggot farms, dew collectors, and weed and tobacco plants. Combat features a range of melee and ranged weapons, with guns varying in stats and calibre. Enemies use the same weapons and may drop ammunition, weapons or healing items on defeat, and boss fights against warlords are included.

Survival involves eating found items such as bugs, dog food and mystery meat, or butchering animals and mutants and cooking their meat. Body armour, bandages and first aid kits are available, and the character can be upgraded with a backpack, flashlight and binoculars. Trading uses rusted nuts as currency, with merchants offering randomised stock. The game has a day and night cycle, partial controller support limited to driving, and steering wheel support. A demo is available, though it is an older build with reduced content, offering one car, one boss and a single save slot.
