ASKA

ASKA is a survival game set in a harsh, mythical Norse world. Players found and maintain a Viking tribe, working, crafting, hunting and fighting alongside computer-controlled villagers. It can be played alone or cooperatively with up to three others.

Players design and construct each part of their settlement, including homes, workshops, altars and fortifications, with each building serving a defined function. Villagers follow daily schedules and need food, water and rest. Each has individual needs and perks that shape their strengths. Players assign roles and train villagers in combat or trades. Blacksmiths, for example, produce tools and weapons, while skilled hunters can travel further afield to gather food and other resources.

The world is procedurally generated and contains caves, ancient landmarks, resources and hostile creatures. A seasonal weather system changes survival priorities throughout the year, and players must protect the tribe from the cold during winter and prepare for attacks during Blood Moon events. Combat is skill-based and involves a range of mythical creatures. Players can seek out dark forces across the land and build runestones that grant improvements to the tribe and village. Buildings can be customised with functional furniture, dyes and decorative items. The game currently holds a Very Positive user review rating on Steam, up from its previous rating of Mostly Positive.
