Cards On The Table
Cards on the Table is a roguelike poker deckbuilder in which every hand is decided by a showdown rather than bluffing. Each suit carries a unique power that can help build a player’s hand, disrupt an opponent’s, or shift the balance of chips. Alongside the standard four suits, the game introduces new suits such as Voids, which remove rank and suit information from opposing cards, and Plants, which spread to neighbouring cards to form flushes more easily. Additional suits become available as players progress through successive runs.
Players can customise their deck by increasing card ranks, repainting cards into different suits, or slicing and stitching cards together to combine their powers into new combinations. Runs also involve collecting cards, relics and tarot cards that introduce further synergies and combinations, allowing for varied strategies across playthroughs.
The game features poker hands that extend beyond the standard five cards, including hands such as nine-card straights and seven of a kind. At the start of each run, players choose four starter suits, and additional starter suits can be unlocked over time, creating a wide range of possible playstyles. The game also includes a range of characters encountered throughout runs.
