Eagle Knight Paradox
Eagle Knight Paradox is a cyberpunk graphic novel set in Comala 88, a neon-lit city that still bears the damage of a past war. The player takes the role of Ian, a boy who once hoped to become an Eagle Knight pilot and who now finds that opportunity offered to him again. The game is divided between two modes of play tied to the day and night cycle. During the day, Ian walks the city’s streets, looks at its murals and speaks with residents, with conversations and decisions affecting what happens later. At night he pilots a large combat mecha in fast, skill-based battles against colossal enemies, where success depends on precise timing.
The story presents player choices as having consequences for the state of the city and for which characters remain in it. Ian is supported by Captain Rojas, a young commander of a well-known frigate who takes a risk by backing him, and by Kaitlyn, his childhood friend, who has taken on a new role that challenges Ian’s assumptions.
The artwork was drawn by hand, frame by frame, by a solo artist working with a small team. The developers describe the story as lasting around two hours, with each scene intended to serve the narrative rather than extend its length.
