Grandpa’s Bee Haven

Grandpa’s Bee Haven is an idle beekeeping simulator designed to run in a small window at the bottom of the screen so that it can be checked on between other tasks. The player builds up an apiary by placing beehives and assigning bees and bee plants to them, keeping the colonies healthy with nearby watering stations and regular inspections. Honey Extractors and Beeswax Melters can be added to harvest honey and collect beeswax.

Hives, Honey Extractors and Beeswax Melters can each be upgraded to improve efficiency. Upgrading also unlocks additional resources including Pollen, Beeswax, Propolis and Royal Jelly, which are spent on further upgrades, equipment, plants and decorations. Helpers can be hired to expand the apiary, each with a different role: Grandma boosts production alongside Grandpa, the Scientist carries out inspections automatically, and the Shaman plays the flute and performs a rain dance. A dog, a cat and a general Helper are also available.

Land can be unlocked on both sides of the play area, and three separate maps are included. Players can arrange flowers, bushes and trees to lay out their apiary as they wish. The game has moved from development to full release and, at the time of writing, holds a Positive rating on Steam from more than ten user reviews.
