Gun Shop 3
Gun Shop 3 is a management simulation set in the American firearms trade. The player takes on the role of a Federally licensed Firearms (FFL) Dealer, starting out in a spare room at home or a run-down location and expanding the business from there. Weapons can be assembled from individual components, with rails, scopes, adapters and other attachments combined to produce either conventional items or impractical oversized builds.
The game includes a fabrication system that lets the player produce parts rather than buy them from suppliers. Junk weapons can be fed into a shredder to recover scrap, which is then machined on a lathe into cylindrical components such as barrels, muzzle brakes and suppressors, or milled on a CNC machine into receivers, handguards and mounts. Blueprints for these parts are unlocked through a Brand Mastery progression. Contracts form a further layer of play: Service Contracts call for cosmetic restoration and custom assembly, while later Bulk Wholesale Contracts for private military companies require identical batches to be built to deadlines and shipped on cargo pallets. When customers offer used guns for sale, the player can inspect them on a workbench to find broken or rusted parts and use those findings to haggle the price down while monitoring customer patience.
A Regulatory Heat mechanic tracks risky behaviour such as selling customised military hardware or skipping Form 4473 background checks. Excessive heat brings undercover inspectors, demands for back-alley handoffs and agency audits that can close the shop. Staff can be hired through a service called Handy Hire, with janitors cleaning the premises, cashiers handling background checks and transactions, and machinists running fabrication queues. The player also controls store decoration, opening hours and pricing, and can choose between running a lawful business or an illicit one.
