Hundred Nights: DIFU
Hundred Nights: DIFU is a management simulation game set in a version of the Chinese underworld. Players customise the terrain of their realm, adjusting size and height to create mountains, floating islands, and the eighteen levels of hell, then connect these areas using various transportation methods.
Core gameplay involves punishing souls and cleansing karma to earn D-Cash, after which souls can be reborn and generate Incense. If souls are left queuing too long they become Grudges that cause damage, so players use decorations and combinations of elements to boost facility efficiency and manage flow. Players also hire soulkeepers with distinct personalities to staff the hell workplace, deciding on management styles that range from heavy overtime to a work-life balance, each producing different reactions from employees.
Souls within the game have their own needs, seeking to live a fulfilling afterlife in Fengdu City by recalling previous lives, meeting personal needs, engaging in recreation, and forming relationships. Meeting these needs provides resources for running the underworld, and decorating Fengdu City with treasures affects how souls respond. The game also includes story content drawn from ancient Chinese mythology, featuring figures such as Wukong, with branching choices that lead to different outcomes.
