IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator
IRON NEST puts you inside a massive war machine where you’re the one pulling every lever, cranking every dial and calling every shot. Orders come down from High Command, but once your hands are on the controls, the consequences are all yours. It’s a first person artillery sim that takes the mechanical bits seriously, from hauling the elevation wheel to matching propellant charges, and makes you feel the weight of the thing you’re operating.
The tactical map isn’t just there to look at either. Move your markers and the landscape actually changes to match, shells leave scars, and aerial photos show you the real outcome of what you’ve done. With over 30 unlockable ammo types, procedurally generated objectives and a story set in an alternate history 1920s Spain on the edge of civil war, there’s a lot going on beneath the steel and smoke.
It’s built by a two person team, Nick Talmers and Dominik Latos, who clearly love interwar machinery and dieselpunk as much as they love blowing things up with it. There’s a customisable cat companion too, if you need a bit of company while you wait for a turret this size to swing round.
