Island Restoration

Island Restoration is a cleaning game set in a world damaged by factories and hazards. The player sets sail to restore polluted islands, removing hazards, rescuing and petting animals, and uncovering secrets. As an island is cleaned, nature gradually returns to it. The game has no timers, so islands can be restored at the player’s own pace.

Cleaning is done with six tools, which can be improved through upgrades. A skill tree offers further upgrades and skills, and new tools allow the player to restore new regions. Side contracts become available as the player progresses, ranging from short jobs on small islands to longer jobs on larger islands with bigger rewards. Each contract generates a new island, and the game describes the supply of contracts as infinite.

The game includes four biomes across 12 maps, along with a built-in randomiser that changes the islands the player visits. The player also has a boat that stays with them throughout the game, and its components can be swapped and combined using cosmetic options. On Steam, the game’s user review rating has recently changed from Very Positive to Mostly Positive.
