My Helpers
My Helpers is a genuinely odd little horror game that blurs the line between the game and your actual desktop. Instead of building a fake computer for you to poke around in, we made the background transparent so your real files, folders and apps become part of the experience. Somewhere in there are a handful of Helpers, each one a bit stranger than the last, waiting to be found.
Every Helper comes with its own weird custom app and its own reason for being there, and figuring out what’s really going on is half the fun (and half the dread). It all runs through public Windows APIs, so nothing shady is happening under the hood, but that doesn’t stop it from feeling deeply unsettling once you realise how close to home it’s hitting.
It’s a neat experiment in treating your PC itself as the platform rather than just the thing you play games on, inspired by that Nintendo trick of squeezing unexpected tricks out of hardware everyone thought they already understood. Just remember, whatever creeps you out along the way, it’s still just a game.
