Noctiria is a horror roguelite deckbuilder set in a decaying 1990s city, featuring six playable heroes, turn-based card combat and card upgrades that carry over between runs.

Noctiria is a horror roguelite deckbuilder with turn-based combat, set in a corroded, foggy and diseased city in the 1990s. Players pick one of six heroes, named Shadow, Mist, Void, Parasite, Abyss and Reflection. Each has its own starting deck, card pool, archetypes and mechanics. Each act takes place on handcrafted maps with branching paths, where nodes lead to standard battles, Elite creatures, Bosses, rest sites, merchants, treasures and unknown events. Players cannot visit every node, so route choice affects which rewards and risks they encounter.

In combat, players manage Mana, generate Shield, manipulate their draws and use a wide range of status effects, including Poison, Burn, Intoxication, Decay, Paralysis, Intrusion, Drowning, Rust and Sharpening. These can be stacked, combined, triggered and consumed. Enemies display their intentions and follow distinct patterns and abilities. Decks change over the course of a run as cards are bought, unlocked, removed, duplicated or upgraded at merchants. Players can carry up to four consumable relics at once, which disappear after use and can heal, provide Mana or Shield, draw cards, remove negative effects, strike all enemies or alter battle rewards. A Corruption system, also referred to as Sanity, ties into resting, merchant prices, event risks and the need for psychiatric treatment.

At rest sites, players can choose a cautious recovery, a deeper recovery with possible consequences, skip resting to upgrade a card, or sacrifice health for a stronger upgrade. Progression persists between runs: players unlock new heroes and cards, earn experience, improve character abilities and permanently upgrade cards across three levels, which changes each hero’s starting deck over time. The story is told through characters, events, dialogue and fragments found in the world. On Steam, the game has passed ten user reviews and currently holds a Positive rating.
