Nuktedan: The Forgotten Emotions
Nuktedan: The Forgotten Emotions is a top-down puzzle-adventure game following Nuktedan, a small bird who has lost his memories to Alzheimer’s. His world, once full of colour, has become black and white, as each colour represented a memory that has since faded. The memories themselves are gone, but each one has left a trace behind, and these traces take the form of puzzles for the player to follow.
The central mechanic involves guiding a laser to a cube, with the route between the two forming the basis of each puzzle. As the player progresses, Nuktedan recovers emotions, each linked to a colour and each granting a distinct ability. Yellow (Hope) allows time control, Blue (Depression) grants stealth and ice placement, Red (Anger) enables enemy destruction, Brown (Trust) provides ground control, Green (Peace) offers energy renewal, Pink (Love) allows enemy manipulation, and Purple (Mystery) reveals the invisible. Certain puzzles can only be completed once the relevant emotion has been recovered.
The game runs for around two to three hours and deals with themes of memory, emotion and the gradual return of colour. It was developed by a single 20-year-old developer.
