REPLACED

REPLACED is a narrative adventure game set in Phoenix-City, an alternate 1980s America reshaped by nuclear disaster. Players take on the role of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence housed within a human body, created by the Phoenix Corporation. The story follows R.E.A.C.H. as they uncover corruption within the Corporation and explore a society where body parts are traded as currency and organ transplants have become widespread.

The game combines exploration, platforming, and combat within a 2.5D perspective that pairs pixel art with modern lighting, depth-of-field, and cinematic visual effects. Combat blends melee strikes and ranged gunplay, incorporating dodges and counters designed for fluid, cinematic movement through the game’s environments. Players navigate a range of settings, including underground complexes, secret laboratories, and the decaying slums of Phoenix-City, encountering characters described as morally complex.

The game features an original synth-driven soundtrack intended to reinforce its dystopian, neo-noir atmosphere. Its narrative addresses themes of humanity and identity through R.E.A.C.H.’s interactions with other characters and their investigation into the Phoenix Corporation’s actions.
