Rivage

Rivage is a first-person sci-fi puzzle adventure set in the 25th century, at a point when humanity has begun expanding beyond its own solar system. A newly discovered planet, Vesta, is being assessed as a possible new home, and the A.R.E.S. space station has been placed in orbit to study it. After the station and its crew are caught in an unexplained space phenomenon, the player takes the role of Miranda, who wakes up alone on board and must work out what has happened and how to escape.

The game combines exploration with logic puzzles and narrative discovery. The station is presented as a fully interactable environment, and players can inspect objects, read research data and find notes left at abandoned workstations. The former crew are described through journals, personal logs and encrypted messages, which the player pieces together to learn about their relationships and the effects of isolation. Puzzles are tied to the story and include repairing broken systems, realigning faulty mechanisms and solving environmental challenges involving gravity, magnetism and the flow of time.

A feature called the K9 System lets Miranda record discoveries and keep certain puzzle solutions, which is intended to reduce repetition so the player can concentrate on investigating the distortions affecting the station. The developer describes the underlying theme of the narrative as the idea that progress always comes at a cost.
