Smokey Mike
Smokey Mike is a narrative point-and-click adventure that owes a lot to the old LucasArts classics, but the story it tells is all its own. You play Paco, an aspiring comedian trying to put together five bulletproof minutes for an audition that could change everything, set against the chaotic early stand up scene in Buenos Aires around 2010.
Alongside the classic walk, look, talk and interact mechanics you’d expect, Paco’s Confidence Meter shapes what he’s actually able to say or do in any given moment. Everyday life becomes raw material: collect ideas, unlock new venues to get stage time, write jokes in your notebook and then find out live whether they actually land. The comedy world here is a proper social zoo, full of fellow comics, allies, rivals and maybe someone to fall for along the way, and every set can swing between feeling like a rock star and feeling like absolute rubbish.
There’s more than one path through Paco’s story, with decisions that branch things in real ways and two very different endings. It’s written and made by a comedian with over 15 years of actual stage experience, and that shows in how honestly it deals with ambition, insecurity and what it costs to put yourself out there in front of a crowd. Full voice and text in English and Spanish, with more languages planned down the line.
