Snap the Cat is an incremental game built around taking photos of cats. Players improve their camera equipment, upgrade their account and explore a range of biomes while unlocking new cats and costumes with the aim of making their photos go viral. The game is now released on Steam and, at the time of writing, holds a Very Positive user review rating from more than 100 reviews.

The main resource is likes, which are awarded based on how interesting a photo is. As likes accumulate, followers begin to arrive and the account can be monetised. Growing popularity opens up further ways to develop the player’s skills through a skill tree, where new abilities can be unlocked to improve returns. Progression is driven by gathering these resources over time.

Packs can be opened to obtain new cats and outfits for them, and the developer states that rewards are guaranteed. The game includes more than eight biomes, over 40 cats and more than 25 costumes. The gameplay is described by the developer as simple and relaxing, with the long-term goal of getting everyone on the planet to follow the player’s account.
