TANUKI: Pon’s Summer
TANUKI: Pon’s Summer puts you in the paws of Pon, a delivery tanuki with one month to raise enough cash to restore his shrine before the Great Tanuki Festival kicks off. You’ll be zipping around on a BMX delivering letters and packages to the folks living across four towns inspired by Kyoto, Aomori, Sapporo and Beppu, and every parcel is a little puzzle in itself since size, weight and shape all affect how you carry the darn things.
It’s not all deliveries though. As you build up friendships with the locals they’ll rope you into all sorts of activities and sports, and taking part earns you rewards that go straight into fixing up the shrine. There’s building, upgrading and decorating to do too, so you’re constantly juggling errands, mates and home improvement with a festival deadline looming.
We love how much personality is packed into this one. Four distinct towns to explore, loads of quirky characters to win over, and that lovely feeling of watching your shrine slowly come back to life bit by bit. Great chill out game if you fancy something busy but relaxed.
