The Last 15 Minutes on Tau Alpha 7
The Last 15 Minutes on Tau Alpha 7 is a short, experimental shooter built around a single fifteen-minute battle. Players take the role of survivors from a destroyed colony who have gathered at an evacuation point on the planet Tau Alpha 7. A dropship is on its way, and the group must hold out until it arrives. The developers describe it as an attempt to capture the feeling of a last stand, and it is presented as something to be played a handful of times rather than as a lengthy or systems-heavy game. It can be played alone or with friends, and three difficulty levels are available.
The core objective is to hold a gate against attackers. When the gate is cracked, players can weld it back together. Salvage is collected during the fight and can either be spent or saved. Threats arrive from several directions at once, including at the wall, along the flank and from the ground behind the defenders, so players must decide which problem to deal with first.
The battle is set to a fifteen-minute music track that runs for the full duration. A voice feature allows players to shout lines during the fight, and doing so grants buffs. These lines change depending on the situation and become progressively more desperate as the match goes on. The developers state that the game does not offer character builds, progression systems or many hours of content, and is intended as a brief, intense session rather than a long-term shooter.
