The Plant Shop
The Plant Shop is a cosy horror game in which the player runs a small plant shop during late-night hours. The player takes the role of Silvia, a 26-year-old who works a corporate job during the day and opens her own shop on a night shift. The game is described as a narrative walking simulator built around a simple loop: customers arrive with orders, and the player crafts the requested flowers, plants or cacti before serving them.
Crafting requires a plant pot, soil, a seed and water. As the shop grows, its expanding plant collection attracts more visitors. Customers speak of a curse said to have struck the town thirty years earlier, and over the course of the game Silvia begins to see and hear strange things. The story is designed around uncovering whether the curse is real or an old legend, and the game includes multiple endings. Visually, it uses a VHS-style presentation that imitates the appearance of old CRT screens.
Three modes are available. Story Mode follows Silvia’s attempt to build a successful shop. Relaxed Mode lets the player manage the shop at their own pace. Endless Mode has the player fulfil orders against the clock for as long as possible and features a leaderboard. The developer also states that content creators may record and monetise gameplay footage.
