The Ratline is a 1971-set detective game in which players investigate a murdered priest's connection to a network smuggling Nazi war criminals to freedom.

The Ratline is a detective thriller set in 1971 that follows the investigation into the murder of a Catholic priest in Budapest. The case leads to the discovery of a list connected to The Ratline, a covert network used by Nazi war criminals to escape justice after the war. Players take on the role of an investigator tracing this network across multiple countries, including Rome and Buenos Aires.

Gameplay centres on examining documents, photographs, and recovered artefacts to piece together information without direct guidance. Players build cases by making independent deductions, cross-referencing evidence, and working through contacts and sources to identify individuals connected to the Ratline network before bringing them to justice.

The game was developed by Owlskip, a studio previously known for narrative detective titles including Family, Rivals, Conspiracy, Echo Beach, Life & Crimes, and Riley and Rochelle. The Ratline is designed for use with mouse and keyboard and is not optimised for Steam Deck.
