Trading Card Inspector

Trading Card Inspector is a document-inspection game set in the fictional Habubis Corporation. The player works as the company’s new Trading Card Inspector, responsible for quality control on the Habubis Trading Card Game. The Story Mode follows an investigation involving friendship, corporate espionage and murder, with shady characters and choices along the way.

Each card must be judged valid or invalid using guideline notes, errata memos, reference lists and the player’s own judgement. Valid cards are then assigned an accurate value, while invalid cards are destroyed in a shredder. Difficulty modifiers change how the gameplay works and affect the player’s perception of the cards.

Progress in Story Mode unlocks new modifiers for Endless Mode, where the aim is to beat a previous score and earn money to spend in the Habubis Company Store. Each enabled modifier raises the difficulty and also increases the payment for each correctly graded card. The game includes over 160 unique hand-drawn cards, each with its own story in the Card Gallery. Its 1-bit visual style can be customised with 40 unlockable colour palettes, 20 desk patterns and several desk widgets.
