1348 Ex Voto

1348 Ex Voto is a third-person action-adventure game set in a version of Italy inspired by the 14th century. Players take the role of Aeta, a young knight errant voiced by Alby Baldwin, who travels across the country to find and rescue Bianca, voiced by Jennifer English. The setting features political strife, rural exodus, banditry, mercenaries, religious zealots and plague spreading through the countryside and cities. The game draws on earlier titles in the genre and on chivalric story conventions.

Combat is based on Historical European Martial Arts and was animated with the help of trained performance capture actors. Players can choose between two stances, one-handed and two-handed, to deal with enemies. Skill books found during the adventure unlock new combos, and different weapon parts can be used to customise Aeta’s swordplay.

The game’s locations include medieval villages, castles, the grassy mountainside of the Appennino and the remains of classical Rome. Players can search their surroundings for trinkets and treasures to add to a collection.
