771
771 is an indie first-person horror walking simulator, released on Steam and holding a Mixed user review rating from over 50 reviews. It has an approximate playtime of 30 minutes. The game begins on an ordinary night in the player’s apartment, which then starts to lead into places that should not exist. Light, interiors and walls shift into unfamiliar forms as the player is drawn further into the dark.
Gameplay centres on leaving the bed and exploring the spaces that follow. Players move through strange corridors, searching for a way out, with each area leading on to another location. There is no combat described; the experience is built around walking, observation and atmosphere, supported by realistic graphics and a focus on sound design.
The project was made as a small experiment by a team of seven developers. Each developer worked on the game for a single day and did not know what the others had built until their own turn arrived, so the whole game was produced across seven days. The developers warn that the game contains flashing lights which may trigger epileptic seizures.
