Backrooms Protocol

Backrooms Protocol is a horror game set in the Backrooms, a series of endless, liminal spaces popularised by internet folklore. It supports cooperative play for up to four players, with groups exploring the environment together rather than alone.

Each level contains creatures that the players must survive. The developer notes that these creatures are able to get inside the player’s mind, indicating that the threat is not limited to physical pursuit and that some form of mental or perceptual effect is part of the encounters.

The Steam page provides limited detail beyond the multiplayer count, the exploration focus and the presence of creatures on every level. The developer maintains a Discord server for announcements about the game.
