Black Friday Janitor: Clean the Whole Mall is an organisation game set in a shopping mall after the year’s largest sale. The player takes on the role of a single janitor tasked with restoring the entire building. The developer states there are more than 30,000 individual tasks in total, and that the job is not intended to be completed in a single session.

The work is broken down into several categories: over 21,000 misplaced items to return to their correct shelves, around 10,000 pieces of rubbish to collect, 500 spills to clean up and 300 fallen objects or pieces of furniture to set upright. The mall contains multiple stores, each stocking its own range of products that need to be sorted and put back in the right places. As the player progresses, abilities can be unlocked that allow cleaning and tidying to be carried out more quickly.

The game’s setting is a mall styled after the 2000s, with lighting and ambient sound designed to match that period. The environment begins in a disordered state and gradually returns to its original condition as the player works through the tasks.
