Black Gold: Oil Drilling Simulator

Black Gold: Oil Drilling Simulator is a first-person management game set in the early days of the oil industry. The player takes the role of a pioneer who starts with undeveloped land and works towards building a profitable drilling business. Rather than purchasing ready-made rigs, the player clears the land, chops timber, and processes raw materials in order to construct the first derricks.

Machinery maintenance is a central part of the game. Pumps and other equipment need regular attention, including replacing worn gears and dealing with rust, and neglected equipment will deteriorate. The player also hires a crew to carry out heavy work and can train workers to improve their efficiency. Upgrading the home base improves living conditions and worker morale, which in turn unlocks further ways to streamline operations.

Income comes from selling crude oil, and the money earned can be reinvested in the business. The player can research technology from the early 1900s, expand into new drilling territory, and replace basic components such as rusty valves with more advanced industrial equipment.
