ClayMonsters
ClayMonsters is a game centred on creating, raising and battling clay-like monsters. Players build monsters in Monster Edit, where the body can be freely edited and painted. The shape, size and body composition of a monster influence its stats and moves, and finished models can be saved and managed across multiple slots.
In Training mode, a monster is developed over a five-day regimen by choosing actions each day. Daily events include motivation boosts, special events and sudden attacks by powerful foes. Through training, players can learn new moves, rearrange a monster’s move set, and save and inherit training progress. A Skill Tree allows players to improve starting stats and training efficiency. Combat is real-time and one-on-one, with players managing distance by moving in and out and attacking by combining multiple moves. Other mechanics include counterattacks, limb destruction, knockbacks and limb restoration. Defeating powerful foes earns points that can be used to create stronger monsters.
Battles against the CPU take the form of free matches and tournaments, with difficulty levels from Easy to Very Hard. Player-versus-player options include room code matches and random matches. An Exhibition Room lets players view and download creations made by others and save them to their own slots. A Desktop Pet feature displays created monsters on the desktop, where they walk around, rest and sometimes sleep, and the main game can be relaunched from a right-click menu. The developer permits streaming and uploading of gameplay videos, including monetised content, while asking that game assets are not redistributed and that no one poses as an official representative of the game.
