Crimson Animatronic

Crimson Animatronic is a horror visual novel with dark humour. The player takes the role of Daiane, a werecat and radio host who is stalked by a vampire cult called the Crimson Order. She learns that the cult is being hunted by Charkelene Chan, a wolf animatronic with a crimson mane, which is haunted by the spirit of a person who was killed and consumed by the Order.

The game’s progress depends on the player’s choices and mistakes. Players must survive encounters with enemies, answer their questions and comply with their demands, while avoiding jumpscares. Daiane also tries to uncover the Crimson Order’s origins and its links to haunted android animatronics, mysterious deaths and missing people across northeast America. The Order is described as an ancient organisation that first appeared in New England and worships figures including Lyssa, the Greek daemon of madness, and a demon god named Saval.

The game contains around 25,000 words of story, an original soundtrack and partial English voice acting. There are five endings, described as good, bad, fake and some surprises. The game also features deliberately ugly mascot characters, presented as a parody of the mascot horror genre. It is a Fernanda Fiona Bad Games project.
