Dash Dot Die
Dash Dot Die is a first-person horror puzzle game with a retro aesthetic inspired by PSX-era visuals and VHS recordings, featuring low-poly textures, static effects and dim lighting. The player is trapped in a maze of corridors, decaying rooms and narrow vents, held there by someone from their past who wants them to suffer as they once did. The captor has designed a game in which failure results in death.
All puzzles, clues and messages in the game are based on Morse code. Progress depends on interpreting signals delivered through light, sound and timing, and a single incorrect decoding can end the run. An in-game reference sheet is provided as the only aid for learning and decoding the signals. The environments are described as shifting and altering the player’s perception, and each solved puzzle moves the story closer to revealing why the player is being held.
Other features include sound design that supports both the horror atmosphere and the puzzle mechanics, and a high-stakes structure in which one mistake means death.
