Deadzoned

Deadzoned is a turn-based action roguelike with a sci-fi setting. It takes place in the year 29XX, after interplanetary wars and a nanite plague devastated human populations across the star colonies. On the planet Celestious, survivors scavenge subterranean zones for supplies and lost technology while fighting bandits, beasts and monsters. Enemies include creatures, outlaw gangs, cultists and monsters found in the blackouts.

Players move deeper into the Deadzones, using weapons, gear and ammunition that are found along the way. Ammunition is limited, and there are no item weight limits, so every weapon found can be carried. Defeating enemies awards XP, which is used to raise stats and select Talents. Each zone has a procedurally generated layout with random events and ancient machines that can boost a character build. Some events and optional entrances lead to harder zones, such as Forbidden or Plagued Deadzones, which offer extra loot and higher scores. Examples include a Cannibal camp and the domain of the Boneraiser.

The game has several modes that differ in length, difficulty, and the gear, enemies and end bosses they use. One mode is described as a quick session of around 20 minutes. Character classes include Bounty Hunter, Psychic, Technomaniac and Deprived Wretch, each with its own levelling, Talents and stat preferences. Steam leaderboards are provided for every game mode and class. Other features include Clashful Cards, a collectable card game playable against the AI or a local friend, unlockable hats and skin colours, and support for mouse and keyboard, keyboard only, or gamepad. The game has received over 100 Steam reviews.
