Dig Too Deep
Dig Too Deep is a 2D side-scrolling action roguelite that combines base building and tower defence. The player controls a troll and directs a crew of goblins, who are used for every task in a run. Goblins can be thrown into the mine to gather scrap, sent to the Smiddy to craft upgrades and buildings, or hurled directly at approaching enemies. The goblins are treated as a resource rather than as disposable units: when they are injured they can be healed, or resurrected if killed, and then sent back to work.
The game starts with the troll Ol’Berta. Two further characters can be unlocked: Acarash, who is described as a more aggressive combat-focused troll, and the Goblin King, who uses trickster magic against enemies. Resources collected during a run are spent at the Smiddy and the Pile to build defences and buy upgrades, and the choice of build affects how a run plays out. Dozens of perks are available to find and stack across runs, and these can be combined in different ways.
Enemies attack in waves that grow more difficult as a run continues. If the player’s defences fail the run ends and a new one can be started, with the roguelite structure meaning each attempt differs in the perks and options available.
