Jotun: Valhalla Edition

Jotun: Valhalla Edition is a hand-drawn action-exploration game set in Norse mythology. Players control Thora, a Viking warrior who died an inglorious death and must earn her place in Valhalla by proving herself worthy to the Gods. The game combines exploration with combat as Thora journeys through Norse Purgatory.

Gameplay involves exploring nine large and interconnected levels to find runes that unleash jotun, giant Norse elemental beings. Combat is centred on the use of a two-handed axe, along with abilities granted by the Viking Gods. Thora’s story, including the circumstances of her life and death, is revealed through the course of the game.

This edition includes Valhalla Mode, which presents more difficult versions of the five jotun bosses as an additional challenge. The game features hand-drawn animation throughout, Icelandic voice-over work, and an original soundtrack composed by Max LL for each gameplay moment.
