DinoBones: Tidy Up the Museum
DinoBones: Tidy Up the Museum is a single-player simulation set in a museum where every dinosaur skeleton has fallen apart. Skulls, ribs, vertebrae and other pieces are strewn across the main hall, staircases and floors, and the player is the only person present to restore order. The game is built around rebuilding more than six dinosaur skeletons from a pool of over 2,500 individual bones.
Play is divided into three stages. First, bones are picked up from wherever they lie around the building. Second, each piece must be identified so that it is matched to the correct dinosaur and the correct position on that skeleton. Third, the bones are mounted in place until each display is complete. The developer describes this as assembly gameplay rather than simple collecting and sorting, since identification is a required step.
As progress is made, skills can be unlocked that alter how the work is carried out. These include carrying a larger number of bones at once, highlighting bones that belong together and correcting placements. There are no time limits or penalties, and the game is intended as a low-pressure experience. The developer states that no AI-generated content is used in gameplay.
