Dirt Fishing: Metal Detecting Simulator
Dirt Fishing: Metal Detecting Simulator follows Ethan, a fifteen-year-old who is given a toy metal detector and a wooden shovel for his birthday by his grandfather, a lifelong treasure hunter. Starting with this basic equipment, the player searches for buried objects across three environments: a forest, a beach and a desert. The detector beeps more rapidly as the player nears a buried item, at which point the shovel is used to dig it up.
Items recovered include 54 historical US coins, relics, silver, gold, scrap metal and junk. According to the developer, items buried at greater depth carry a higher chance of being valuable. Finds can be sold for money, which is used to buy improved metal detectors that locate deeper and more valuable targets, and to upgrade the shovel so that digging takes fewer swings. Energy drinks scattered around the world give a temporary boost to movement speed.
The main objective is to collect 100 relics, completing the grandfather’s challenge and earning the title of Legendary Treasure Hunter. After this, play continues with the option to complete the coin collection, fully upgrade equipment and accumulate further money. Leaderboards track total money earned and relics found.
