Draftula
Draftula is a roguelike take on the block-dropping puzzle genre. The setting is a world where a Count once caused destruction until a hero defeated him. Legend says his former power can be claimed by anyone who builds a castle grand enough. Players take on this task by constructing a fortress and aiming to make it as tall as possible.
Each night, the player drops rooms onto the board to build the castle. Rooms grant certain boons when placed next to other rooms, so knowing which rooms work well together is central to progress. The player must work with the rooms they are dealt, so no two runs are the same and each castle turns out differently. A hero also threatens to bring the castle down.
Between runs, players can meet the residents of the nearby town to learn the story behind the Count and the player’s own reasons for building the castle. Gems earned during each night’s run can be spent on new rooms. The game has short runs, over 50 unique rooms, three maps with distinct mechanics and challenges, and a variety of secrets to uncover.
