Duo Quest is a two-player co-op roguelite deck builder in which partners answer questions about each other to power their cards and defeat the Demon King.

Duo Quest is a co-operative game built for exactly two players, whether friends or partners, and is intended to be accessible to people who do not usually play games. It is set in an 8-bit fantasy world where a Demon King has devastated the kingdom using a device called The Bondbreaker. The two adventurers must learn to use Duo Energy, a power whose strength depends on the relationship between the people wielding it, and set out to defeat him.

The core of the game combines roguelite deck building with social play. During encounters, the two players are presented with questions and must match their answers to defeat enemies. There are over 1000 questions spread across more than 20 themes, and the choice of question theme affects the player’s strategy, with matching answers unlocking combo cards. Hundreds of cards can be unlocked across runs and added to a custom deck, and there are five classes to unlock, each with its own card set.

Levels are procedurally generated, with randomised routes leading to boss battles, so runs differ from one another. Replaying levels lets players find secrets and unlock further cards. Artifacts, items discovered during runs, can also be collected to modify how a pairing plays.
