Finitimi
Finitimi is a puzzle game built on Tentaizu, a Japanese logic puzzle whose name translates as “celestial map”. Players are presented with a grid containing hidden stars and must work out where they are using numbered clues that indicate how many stars are adjacent to a given cell, in a manner comparable to Minesweeper. Each Tentaizu board has a single unique solution for its set number of hidden stars.
The game adds a scoring system to the traditional format and includes four modes: marathon, sprint, ultra and survival. Puzzles are generated automatically, so there is no fixed set of levels. Controller support is included. All content is available from the start, with nothing to unlock, and the developer states there are no lootboxes, microtransactions or paid DLC. Free updates based on user feedback are described as ongoing.
A notable feature is the way clues are displayed. Rather than using only Western Arabic numerals, the hints can be shown using numeral systems from a range of cultures, including Armenian, Babylonian, Brahmi, Chinese, Cistercian, Coptic, Devanagari, Eastern Arabic, Egyptian Demotic, Hieratic and Hieroglyphic, Glagolitic, Hebrew, Hmong, Kaktovik, Khmer, Maya, Muisca, Pentadic, Persian, Roman, Sign and Sumerian, alongside other visual and auditory representations. The game offers 40 colour themes, and its music is by Kevin MacLeod.
