Fire and Water: Spirits of the Forest

Fire and Water: Spirits of the Forest is a cooperative puzzle platformer designed for two players. It supports several control setups: two players sharing a single keyboard, one player on keyboard and one on gamepad, or two gamepads. The game can also be played alone, with a single player taking control of both characters.

Players control forest spirits based on natural forces, including Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Diamond, Shadow and Electricity. Each spirit has its own set of gameplay mechanics tied to its element. Progress depends on using these abilities to solve puzzles and on coordinating with a partner to clear platforming sections. Levels move through a range of environments, from forest depths to snowy peaks and deserts, each introducing new layouts and obstacles.

The game contains no combat. Mutant plants encountered in the world cannot be destroyed; instead, players outwit them to neutralise them temporarily and move past, with the stated aim of freeing them from a curse.
