Font no Game ~Which I Master~
Font no Game ~Which I Master~ is a released game built around learning to tell apart characters that are easy to confuse in different typefaces, such as an uppercase I and a lowercase l. It is structured as five lessons, each intended to help the player recognise the distinguishing features of fonts and identify them correctly.
The lessons take several forms. There are knowledge-based quizzes and reflex-based quizzes, a running game combined with three-choice questions, a side-scrolling action game featuring visual traps, and a novel-style game containing wordplay puzzles. The developer estimates a total playtime of roughly 30 to 120 minutes.
The game uses Google Fonts, and while Windows system fonts are discussed as subject matter, they are shown only as images due to licensing restrictions. All font images are rendered with the same position, size and method. The characters featured are chosen to be difficult for anyone to distinguish; pairs that Japanese speakers can readily tell apart, such as shi and tsu, are excluded. All English letters are half-width, no symbols are included, and the only environment-dependent character is the Roman numeral for one. The developer notes that quiz content is compiled from online sources and should not be cited as an authoritative reference, and that streaming and video creation are permitted without prior permission.
