Gallipoli

Gallipoli is a multiplayer first-person shooter set during the First World War. It follows Verdun, Tannenberg and Isonzo in the WW1 Game Series and covers the Ottoman fronts of the war. Players fight as ordinary soldiers of the British or Ottoman Empires across campaigns on the Gallipoli Peninsula and in Mesopotamia. Maps include the dawn landings at Anzac Cove, an assault on the fort at Cape Helles from the SS River Clyde, fighting in the streets of Kut Al Amara and battles near the Arch of Ctesiphon. The terrain ranges from coastal ravines to arid desert and urban areas.

Matches are player-versus-player, with 25 players on each side competing over objectives. Combat uses one-shot-one-kill damage, and players are grouped into squads. There are 10 classes, each based on a historical battlefield role, including the Officer, Heavy Machine Gunner, Sniper and Stretcher Bearer. Weapon handling is deliberately slow, and reloads are affected by the character’s mental state and familiarity with the weapon. Aim, handling and the ability to reload while under suppressing fire improve as the player gains experience. The game includes more than 50 weapons and pieces of equipment modelled on the historical arsenals of both empires.

Players can customise their soldiers’ uniforms. The game supports crossplay between PC and consoles. Bots fill places in public matches and can optionally be added to custom matches. Two new DLC items have recently been added to the game on Steam.
