Fruit Golf

Fruit Golf is a virtual reality mini golf game built around group play. Instead of a standard golf ball, players hit pieces of fruit, such as a pineapple, and each fruit has its own physics and behaviour that affect how it moves on the course. While one player takes a shot, the others act as saboteurs, placing hazards including sharks, exploding barrels, flying pigs, dust devils, ectoplasm, mouse traps and portals. The game has now moved out of development and is listed as released.

There are three ways to play. With multiple headsets, players compete in VR either online or in the same room, taking turns to golf and to sabotage. In the single-headset hotseat mode, one person plays in VR while others join for free using their phones to control the sabotage. A solo practice mode is also included, where players can work on their swing and attempt challenges.

Courses are set in a range of themed locations, including under the sea, in space, in a kitchen and on a pirate ship, among others. Players can also combine obstacles to build their own course layouts. Completing challenges unlocks new gear, which can be used to customise the player’s appearance.
