Goaldeck
GoalDeck is a single-player roguelike deck-building card game in which the player takes on the role of a football coach. The aim is to build a squad, compete through a series of tournaments, and manage both tactics and player personalities. Each run features permadeath: losing means starting over, while winning progresses the player through increasingly difficult cups. The game includes 120+ player cards across four rarity tiers (Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Legend), obtained through packs or a scout shop, and offers 12 selectable decks based on regions and leagues.
Core mechanics include placing players across three field zones (Attack, Midfield, and Defense), each offering different stat multipliers, and managing player stamina, which depletes over rounds. Manager Cards act as run-modifying effects that alter game rules, such as boosting attackers or converting defensive stats into score, and can be combined for different strategic outcomes. Players can also upgrade individual cards to permanently improve stats or unlock traits, creating synergies with Manager Cards.
Between matches, the game introduces a morale and ego system featuring Reigns-style dilemmas, where decisions about player treatment affect squad cohesion and outcomes. Progression spans 8 tournaments with escalating AI difficulty and prize pools, structured into Quarter Finals, Semi Finals, and Finals. Additional features include six pack tiers with varying rarity odds, a drag-and-drop interface, a three-card hand discard system, sorting options by Attack or Defense, persistent mid-tournament saves, and full localisation in English and Brazilian Portuguese.
