Halloween: The Game
Halloween: The Game is an asymmetrical horror game based on the 1978 film. It is set in the suburban town of Haddonfield on Halloween night, where residents are preparing for the holiday as Michael Myers returns. Players can take the role of Michael Myers or play as a Hero of Haddonfield, with a singleplayer story mode and a 1v4 multiplayer mode available.
Playing as Michael, the objective is to stalk and attack residents using a set of abilities that rely on stealth and shadows. Townsfolk react to threats by calling the local police or fighting back, so avoiding detection is part of the Michael role. The singleplayer story mode follows the events of the original film from Michael’s perspective. In multiplayer, up to four Hero players work together against a single Michael player. Heroes arm themselves with weapons and household items, warn residents, help them escape and contact the police. Convincing townsfolk and alerting the authorities leads to larger neighbourhood patrols, and Heroes can direct and equip NPCs with weapons to create opportunities for escape.
The game is built in Unreal Engine 5. The developer describes it as a horror sandbox with dynamic map features, distinct gameplay systems and NPC interactions that respond to player actions during each match.
