How Asian Parents went to School is a cooperative survival game for one to four players, playable online or solo offline. Players take on the journey of getting to school, which involves climbing vertical terrain, navigating an unpredictable commute, and reaching class before the bell rings.
Throughout the journey, players encounter a bear wearing a cat mask that chases them with a flamethrower and engages them in activities such as freeze tag, where all players freeze simultaneously results in failure, and a snowball fight. Players are accompanied by a character called Tablo Escobar, who delivers over 1,700 unique lines of insulting dialogue. The game includes nine collectible items referred to as ‘Sus’ collectibles, each with accompanying sound effects, and a mode called The Crow Taxi as a means of transport.
The game features proximity voice chat for communication between players and includes the option for players to interact physically with one another during gameplay. It combines cooperative platforming and survival elements with comedic and exaggerated scenarios based on the theme of school attendance.
