How Asian Parents went to School is a co-operative game in which up to four players attempt to reach school by recreating the exaggerated journeys their parents claim to have made. The route involves climbing vertical mountains, surviving a dangerous commute, including a ride on the Crow Taxi, and arriving in class before the bell rings. The game supports online co-op for one to four players as well as offline solo play, and includes proximity voice chat.

A recurring antagonist is a bear wearing a cat mask, which shouts ‘Meow’ at players, spits on them and carries a flamethrower in its mouth. The bear also appears in two mini-game style encounters: a snowball fight and a round of Freeze Tag. In Freeze Tag, frozen players must be unfrozen by their teammates, and if every player is frozen at the same time the whole group loses. Players are also accompanied by Tablo Escobar, a bully character with more than 1,700 lines of insulting dialogue, and can hit their fellow players as a form of stress relief.

Other features include nine collectibles with accompanying sound effects and quieter sections where players can look at the scenery and listen to birdsong. The game has now left development and is released on Steam, where it currently holds a Mixed user review rating based on over fifty reviews.
