Idle Bookstore

Idle Bookstore is an idle game built around writing books alongside a desktop companion. Players name each book, which can be serious, humorous or otherwise, and the companion writes it with them one keystroke at a time. Completed books can be arranged on a bookshelf that serves as a creative profile, where titles can be displayed, grouped into series and shown to friends.

Once written, books can be published and placed on shelves, where they earn money over time. These earnings are used to open themed bookstores, decorate each space, hire staff and grow the business further.

The game also includes cooperative elements. Friends can work on the same book together to reach completion sooner, and players can support one another by selling each other’s creations in their own stores. The developer positions this as a way to turn study or work sessions into a shared writing project.
