It’s About Pirates

It’s About Pirates is a survivors-like set at sea. The player controls a ship that fights continuous waves of enemies, including mythical sea monsters, while avoiding incoming cannonballs. Loot gathered during battles is used to upgrade the ship, and enemies become more difficult as play continues. The game has moved from development status to a full release, and one DLC item has been added on Steam.

Ships can be fitted with weapons and equipment such as flamethrowers, harpoons and mortars. Players combine weapons and items to form different builds, choosing from more than 140 items. Aiming can be set to automatic or manual, and attacks can be timed for greater effect. Ships can also be customised with over 150 parts, which are found during play and added to the collection by completing quests across different pirate realms.

The game includes 30 adventures, 10 captains and 6 factions, each faction having its own abilities. Loot can be collected to unlock new ship skins. An Endless mode is available, and a leaderboard allows players to compare their results with others.
