KICKSLAUGHT

KICKSLAUGHT is a football-themed action game with role-playing style progression. The player controls a single footballer who starts out unknown in a neighbourhood and works through a career made up of matches, opponents and leagues. Each match involves running towards the goal while defenders attempt to block the way; the player times shots to break through the defensive line and, at the end of the match, faces a goalkeeper who must be beaten to advance to the next stage.

The career begins in the lowest divisions and moves upwards one league at a time. Each new division introduces tougher defences and stronger goalkeepers, who develop new methods of stopping the player as the leagues progress. Between matches, the footballer gains experience and levels up, allowing attributes such as running speed, shot power and durability to be improved. Completing specific milestones unlocks additional abilities. Items are found after matches and can be equipped and upgraded, with each piece of equipment offering different advantages.

Outside of matches, the player returns to the neighbourhood and chooses how to spend time, including visiting an arcade, completing training sessions to improve attributes, or buying temporary power-ups from a market. An in-game phone acts as a hub for the career, providing a career summary, a social media feed with football discussion, and information on the upcoming opponent so the player can prepare before a match.
